Competitive Junior Drum Corps Returns to Indiana

A new community group is in the beginning stages of formation in Terre Haute, Indiana.  The new organization will be forming over the next year and should be ready to start rehearsals in November 2017.  Storm will be open to individuals aged 15 - 21. It is hoped to participate in 2018 & 2019 first in Drum Corps International's Sound Sport and local performances.  Following the 2019 season, the corps hopes to apply for Open Class and assume a local-touring status keeping close to the home region seeking competitions around 12 or so for the season.  Finally, after a successful 2020, the corps hopes to fully break into the Open Class division of DCI.  Currently, the open house for the corps will be on  November 18th at the Terre Haute Activities Center at the corner of 5th and Poplar Streets.

The program is inviting people who love the drum corps activity, or are just for youth development to serve as members of the support teams.  Time investment is totally up to the volunteer. Storm is reaching out the corporate organizations in the state for funding support.  Partnership opportunities are also being explored with several universities in the Wabash Valley.
